Introduction to HTML

HTML is a document layout and hyperlink specification languages. They define the syntax and placement of special, embedded that aren't displayed by the browser but tell it how to display the contents of the document, including text, images, and other support media. The languages additionally tell you the way to create a document interactive through special machine-readable text links, that connect your document with different documents on either your laptop or somebody else's also like different web resources. In contrast, HTML is a cross-platform language that works on Windows, Macintosh, and UNIX platforms. In addition, HTML and the web is client/server system.

HTML has evolved from other markup languages. In late 1960, IBM created the General Markup Language (GML) first time as the way to move formatted documents across totally different pc platforms. GML evolved into the Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) in 1986 and was ratified by the International Standards Organization. While SGML is a powerful markup language, it is also very complex and difficult to learn. HTML is an application of SGML. Although it has fewer language elements than SGML, it is easier to use and has become the standard method of encoding information for Web documents. GML, HTML has a facility for information exchange through a typical document format across a completely different style of computer systems and networks on the Web.

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) is the standards organization that controls the evolution of the HTML language. When the W3C has fully endorsed a technology, it publishes a "recommendation" to the Internet community. For more information please visit the W3C official website (https://www.w3.org)
